The two most popular location options for portraits, whether it's for family, children, maternity or couples, are parks and beaches. Although I'm always up for exploring new locations, these are my most used spots throughout the Tampa Bay area. Some of these locations double as both a park + beach such as Fred Howard Park or Green Key Beach.
Of course every photographer has a secret spot or two, so if you're looking for more off the beaten path than listed below, I have more locations for you!
Parks :
John Chesnut Park - Palm Harbor, FL
Crews Lake Wilderness Park - Spring Hill, FL
Philippe Park - Safety Harbor, FL
Starkey Wilderness Park - New Port Richey, FL
Beaches :
Honeymoon Island - Dunedin, FL
Fred Howard Beach/Park - Tarpon Springs, FL
Green Key Beach - New Port Richey, FL
There are many, many other parks and beaches within my traveling range; I travel within Pasco, Hernando, Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.
If parks or beaches aren't your style and you're looking for more of an urban background, downtowns are a fun and unique setting - such as downtown Tampa which includes Curtis Hixon Park and the Tampa Theater, as well as the University of Tampa nearby.
